Is it acceptable to say something is a “budget meal” if it is not affordable? With the continued increase of prices in basic goods due to inflation, the prices inside the Bulacan State University also feel the same effects, specifically the budget meals. Many students are relying on the budget friendly meal especially if the students budgeted their money.

According to Myla Garados, a 5-year seller of budget meals in BulSU, that their hotdog with rice which included in the budget meal they offered was affected by the price increase, the 45 pesos budget meal is now 50 pesos. She also expected that the price will continue to increase in the next couple of years.

Another of these vendors is Aisa, a recent seller of budget meals on campus, stated that all of their meals are budget friendly, hence it is always sold out by students. She added that they added a little increase to the price of their meals due to the inflation. Despite the price increase it's still affordable for the students.

In conclusion, inflation has impacted the prices of the basic goods in the country and with that it affects the budget meals inside the Bulacan State University. But regardless of the price the students will always find the budget meals that are truly essential and everyday needs of individuals.
