So... What can you expect for BALANGAYAN?

Unfolding With Colors

The GAURAN: Grand Unity Parade will be held on Tuesday (Oct 24) gives the students a chance to represent their organizations with pride and vigor. The parade will start at the registration area in Federizo Hall Grounds, going to SRIC to begin the chant performance until the Admission Office near theCollege of Law.

The students will march back to Valencia Hall as the final route where LAYAG: Pagbandera ng Tambalang Kalikasan, Kakayanan, at Karunungan takes place and every organization will hoist their flags, each with their respective colors and symbols.

The assembly and registration will commence at 7:30 AM, followed by the parade's start at 8:30 AM. As stated in a memo by the BulSU Office of Safety, Security, and DRM (OSSDRM), a minimum of seven hundred (700) participants, representing various student organizations across the university, are due to partake in the parade. Due to the foreseen large crowd, a "No Parking" policy at Federizo Hall will be strictly enforced to control the traffic congestion and shortage of parking space within the BulSU Main Campus. All gates and main roads will remain inaccessible for all types of vehicles.

Gauran at Layag” is expected to end at around 10:00 AM. Parking areas will be available at BulSU Campus 2, spanning 25 hectares.

The final list of the paraders are the following: BulSU Bahaghari, Bulsu - TOP, BulSU AdGuild, BulSU KAYAKAP, BulSUONE, CYBL - BulSU JMA, RAC BulSU - Main, YNAT, AIMEES, ALPAS, BioSOc, BulSU - CCJE RCYC, CIT - Creative, IS3, ISIE, JFINEX, KAPIMAPA, LSFA, LMS, MathSoc, SAMAFIL, SAYK, SPICE, JournSOC, and EnviSOC.

A Musical Tribute

KATHIMIG (Oct 21 - 25) is the songwriting and music video making contest, providing a stage for student organizations to showcase their musical talents and express their artistic abilities. The name "KATHIMIG" is a fusion of two Filipino terms: "katha," signifying the act of 'making or composing,' and "himig," which represents 'tune or melody.'

“Mula sa lalim ng adhikain at maalong pagbaybay ng mga pinunong manlalayag, ang KATHIMIG ang magbibigay-kulay at linaw sa kanilang nilalaang pagsisikap sa likod ng karunungan, kahusayan at mga gantimpalang nakakamit,” as introduced by OSOA in the official guidelines for Kathimig: Pagsalaysay sa Likod ng Gantimpala’t Husay ng mga Organisasyon.

The theme song that will be created as part of this competition will have a central role in recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments and merits of organizations during the Quest Awards.
